One of the unexpected outcomes of my doing odd personal projects is that clients have started coming to me with strange assignments. Recently Lucy Slade of Glamour UK asked me to make a portrait of actress Heather Graham to match her prom photo from the late-80s.
The idea is that they wanted her current self posing with her teenage self, and the text would be words of wisdom from this vantage point. The standout quote is “Teach yourself to be selfish; if you make yourself happy, you’ll be more generous with other people.”
